WFTDA Rule 10.3.2: If a skater is bleeding, she may not participate in a bout until the bleeding has stopped.
Not “she may not participate in a jam.” A bout. An entire bout. Which could be like, a month later theoretically. Only in roller derby is the threat of bleeding for an entire month a possiblity. Love this sport.
Raise your hand if you’ve ever sopped up a wound or nosebleed on the bench with a dirty baby wipe while your teammates made a wall around you so the officials wouldn’t notice the blood.
